Solo Practicioner Prepares to Argue Before SCOTUS

When Attorney David Mills decided to leave the litigation group at Jones Day in order to start his own practice, he probably didn't expect to struggle the way he did. According to a recent article in the ABA Journal, Mills "ate a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches" and "liv[ed] on a prayer." He converted his 2 bedroom apartment into his office and hired his mother as a part-time paralegal. Now, two years later, Mills is preparing to argue before the U.S. Supreme Court after accepting a case from a client who could only afford to retain him with the title to her Jeep.
